Brandywine Pablo Guerrero Geisha

Here I have a work of art from Brandywine Coffee Roasters from Wilmington, Delaware. Brandywine is open-minded when it comes to roasting coffee. They know that each one is unique, and treating it as such will help to highlight its best traits. They roast to a lighter profile, preserving the natural flavor. They love coffee that is sweet, complex, and juicy, an exciting and flavorful yet well-balanced cup. Each coffee they bring in lends itself to certain characteristics. The goal is to highlight what makes each one unique and wonderful and avoid the bitter, astringent side. Their master roaster has ten years experience roasting and does exclusively small batches roasted to order in a Loring Falcon 15 kilo roaster with Flavor Lock, featuring an oxygen free roasting environment. They roast seasonally, by harvest to ensure the freshest product, and always offer a seasonal varietal.

This is their Pablo Guerrero Geisha. A fully washed bean from Pablo Guerrero's farm Finca El Obraje. This farm is in one of the most stunning pieces of properties in the mountains of the Narino department in Colombia. I brewed this at my 1:8 ratio (I brew all my geisha's at this "stronger" ratio). Brandywine notes flavors of pineapple, marshmallow, cotton candy, & orange. Due to the higher price tag, I don't snatch up geisha's too often. And I have been fortunate enough that some roasters have given me geisha's. But damn, they are awfully tasty. Very fruity and floral and sweet. I got notes of honeysuckle & tropical fruit & berries & honey. Amazingly bright & crisp cold brew.

Huge kudos to the farmer & Brandywine for roasting such an amazing coffee. And of course, Todd with the amazing hand-drawn artwork on all the packaging (who also won the The Ninth Annual Sprudgie "Best Design Packaging" Award).
