Amateur The Collector

Tonight's coffee comes to us from Amateur Coffee. Amateur is a husband & wife combo based out of Omaha, Nebraska. Jacob roasts while Jasmyn makes everything pretty. They roast their coffees with love & intention to showcase their individual characteristics.

First off, their packing is very nice. I love the labels on each. This coffee is their 'The Collector'. It's a washed bean from Guatemala. Cultivated by the Dinamica Farmers Cooperative. I brewed this at a 1:12 ratio. They noted tastes of butterscotch tobacco when hot & dark chocolate covered cherry sweetness as it cools. As I cold brewed this, it was never hot, but I definitely still noted tobacco. In aroma and taste. Little brown sugar, nutty. Noticed a slight chocolate flavor. Not too sweet though. This is one of the few coffees I've brewed that might be better as a pour over. Still an enjoyable cold brew though.

Thanks again to Jacob & Jasmyn for the coffee. Excited to try the other coffee they sent me.
